SUCCESSFUL DEBUT IN IBERIAN SERIES LEADS TO SPA IN BELGIUM
Lachlan Evennett has come through a successful weekend in the Supercars Iberian Series GT4 Pro class in southern Portugal at Autódromo Internacional do Algarve (Portimao) with his European based GR Customer Racing team, Speedy Motorsports in the GR Supra GT4 EVO 2.
Following the weekend, the 18 year old Queenslander said,
“ A fun weekend at Portimao for Round 1 Supercars Endurace but unfortunatley a rock to the radiator in Race 1 stopped us at only 13 laps.
We followed that with good race pace in Race 2 yesterday and overall a good hit out for October when we return for Round 6 GT4 European.
Was great to spend some more time in car with Mees and this will only help us moving forward to Round 2 at MONZA in 2 weeks.
Thanks to everyone at @speedymotorsport.insta and GR Customer Racing team.
Few days off in Portugal and then off to Belgium to @circuit_spafrancorchamps for testing ready for GT4 Europe Round 3 in late June as support for Spa 24 hour. Cannot wait to get on track and experience SPA and especially Eau Rouge”.
Lachlan Evennett is seen at the Portimao Circuit in Portugal
He was joined by his GT4 European codriver, Mees Houben, as they try to continue their fine start to the European racing season after a podium finish at Round 1 GT4 European Championship at Circuit Paul Ricard, France.
Lachlan will now carry out testing at Circuit of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium to get ready for GT4 European Round 3 and will finish the month off with GT4 European Round 2 at Autodromo Nazionale Monza in Monza, Italy on 28th - 31st May.
Evennett recently scored the overall Pole postion in the Australian Monochrome GT4 Series at The Bend in South Australia.
