STRONG SEASON START - EVENNETT GOES FASTEST ON DAY 1 IN NEW ZEALAND GT4
Australia young gun Lachlan Evennett has started his 2026 year in strong fashion, going fastest in the GT4 Class, on Day 1 of Round 1 of the Summerset GTNZ Championship, as part of the NextGen NZ Championship, at the TERETONGA PARK Circuit in New Zealand.
Piloting the new BEL Energy Camm Quarries and Concrete Mike Carney Toyota Supra GT4 EVO2, Evennett clocked the south island circuit in a time of 1:00.342 to sit fastest overall in GT4 after practice on Day 1.
Qualifying and Race 1 will take place on Saturday with the second race - and then a 1hr long endurance event - taking place on Sunday.

The event follows Evennett’s announcement recently that he will drive in the European GT season in 2026, again behind the wheel of the Toyota Supra GT4 EVO2.
