EVENNETT CLAIMS SECOND OVERALL AND NEW TRANS AM LAP RECORD AT WANNEROO
Australian racing driver Lachlan Evennett produced an outstanding performance at the Perth Super 440, securing second place overall in Round 3 of the Trans Am Series at MotorMall Wanneroo Raceway.

Competing against a high-quality field featuring some of Australia’s most experienced and accomplished drivers, Evennett delivered three consistent races before finishing the weekend with a superb second place in Race 3 and a new Trans Am lap record.
The weekend began with Evennett qualifying sixth among the 20-car field, placing him in a strong position for the opening race.
A composed drive in Race 1 saw him move forward to finish fifth, providing a solid foundation for the remainder of the round.
Conditions became considerably more difficult for Race 2 following overnight rain. With the circuit remaining extremely slippery and the field racing on slick tyres, Evennett successfully negotiated the challenging conditions to bring the car home in seventh place.
The defining performance of the weekend came in Race 3.
Evennett charged to second place while setting a new Trans Am lap record around Wanneroo Raceway with a time of 57.5792 seconds.
The combination of speed, consistency and clean racing across all three contests secured Evennett second place overall for the weekend.
He finished behind Erebus Supercars driver Jarrod Hughes while placing ahead of experienced racers James Moffat and Nathan Herne—the recently announced Supercars Bathurst 1000 wildcard pairing.
The result represented another major achievement for Evennett, who entered the weekend determined to race cleanly, collect valuable championship points and make the most of the opportunity against one of the strongest fields of the season.
Follwoing the race Evennette said,
“I’m very happy with the weekend at Wanneroo Raceway. I went into the races wanting to have a clean weekend and come away with a good haul of points, and I’m very glad I was able to do so,
To come away with a podium and second overall was a great boost against a high-quality field.”
Evennett will now turn his attention to the next round of the championship at the Supercars Ipswich Super 440 in three weeks.
The upcoming events will take him to several circuits he knows particularly well, including Queensland Raceway, Shell V-Power Motorsport Park and Sandown.
Following his Australian racing commitments, Evennett will return to Europe to complete the remainder of his GT4 European Series campaign.
With a Race 3 podium, second place overall and a new Wanneroo lap record, the Perth weekend provided further evidence of Evennett’s speed, adaptability and ability to compete at the front against elite opposition.
