EVENNETT CLAIMS ANOTHER EUROPEAN GT4 PODIUM AT ZANDVOORT

Lachlan Evennett has continued his strong European GT4 campaign with another Pro-class podium, finishing second in Race 1 of Round 5 at Circuit Zandvoort in the Netherlands.

Starting from fifth on the grid, Evennett’s Speedy Motorsport teammate Mees Houben delivered a strong opening stint before handing the Toyota GR Supra GT4 EVO2 over in third position.

Evennett then produced a composed and consistent second stint, keeping the car firmly in podium contention and bringing it home in second place.

The result capped another impressive performance from the Evennett-Houben Pro pairing, with Houben making important progress early in the race before Evennett maintained the momentum through to the chequered flag.

Race 2 provided another strong recovery drive. Starting from 10th on the grid, the pair fought their way through to finish fifth in the Pro class, giving them the second-highest points haul of the weekend.

Evennett’s performance was also recognised with the Rookie of the Race Award in Race 2, adding another highlight to his European campaign.

There will be little time to slow down, with Evennett returning to competition next weekend in the Supercars Iberian GT4 Series at Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, Spain.

He will compete as the Pro driver in a Pro-Am entry with his European GT4 team, Speedy Motorsport.

That appearance will be followed by Round 10 of the Nürburgring Nordschleife Series, before Evennett returns to European GT4 competition for Round 6 at the Autódromo Internacional do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal.

With another podium, a strong points haul and further international racing ahead, Evennett continues to build momentum through an increasingly impressive European season.
